Slovakia in detail
What the national rules say, with the legal texts.
Slovakia has no data centre energy rule in force yet. The Energy Efficiency Act 321/2014 has no data centre provision, and the Directive's transposition deadline of 11 October 2025 has passed. A government bill delivered to the National Council on 28 August 2026 (print 1475) would add one from 1 January 2027. Operators above 500 kW of installed IT power would register in the European database. They would send an annual data file by 30 June. Operators above 1 MW would assess waste heat use in district heating through an energy audit. The rule in force today is cyber security. Data centre service providers are named in Act 69/2018, as amended by Act 366/2024 from 1 January 2025.
